Lisa Orth’s Landscape Inspired Sleeve Tattoos

Lisa Orth ‘s lifestyle and work are characterized by the art she produces. Originally from Seattle, where she worked as the Art Director for Sub Pop records and has been celebrated among the town’s queer and club scene, she’s since relocated to Los Angeles, where she concentrates on her famous tattoo art. Orth is very devoted to her trademark style, which is characterized by imaginative landscapes and perfect linework. Like printing reliefs from an old publication, her job has a sense of esotericism and fantasy, whereby the narrative of a scene is advised via the characteristic of hammering and radiating lines. She works mostly in black ink but adds color here and there if she believes it accentuates the picture. Visit her notable tattoo Instagram portfolio to find out more.

This Infographic Shows The Most Popular Languages Around the World

National Geographic senior graphic designer Alberto Lucas López has created a clear, useful infographic that shows us just how common distinct native languages are all around the world.

His spherical design is cut into sections, with individual portions varying in size according to how prevalent that language is. “There are at least 7,102 known languages alive in the world today. Twenty-three of these languages are a mother tongue for over 50 million individuals,” López writes. We represent each language within black borders and then provide the quantities of native speakers (in millions) by country.”

The color of each segment also shows the geographical place of the speech, making it easy to quickly see just how many popular native languages come from Asia Minor, which can be noted in light brown. For instance, the multi-color Spanish section shows just how widespread the terminology is, as it moves out of pink Western Europe to light purple South America. Conversely, Russian, while spoken by 166 million people, is relatively landlocked.

Check out the complete graph below, and you may be amazed by the number of modern languages you may have never heard of, even while other renowned languages may surprise you with how relatively few native speakers exist. For instance, French, the mother tongue of 75.9 million individuals, is ranked well behind much more, yet is the next most popular language being discovered.

This smart infographic effectively reveals the 23 most common languages spoken around the world.
