Photo Manipulations of “Hybrid Cities” by Margarita Zhitnik & Duck Knees

Digital artist Margarita Zhitnik collaborated with art director Duck Knees to create these unbelievable mashups of iconic places for Expedia.

“If you’ve watched Disney’s animated feature Big Hero 6, you are knowledgeable about the city of San Fransokyo — a mash-up between San Francisco and Tokyo. Well, the view of the Golden Gate Bridge amidst Japanese-style architecture caused us to make a few fusions of our very own.

We chose 14 iconic cities from all over the globe and paired them with hybrid towns. From New York to Rome, Rio de Janeiro to Cape Town and beyond, we merged the distinct attractions and architecture from each city to create a really distinctive destination. Planning a city break and have no clue where to start? These mash-ups will motivate you to design the perfect trip.”
