Young Ukrainian Artist Creates Beautiful Sensual Works In Her Imaginative World

Elena Vizerskaya is a young Ukrainian artist creating something that she expects will induce viewers to sense, instead of believing.

In this surreal world of her own creation, naked ladies dance with tigers, jellyfishes lean in to get a kiss, and crops take on a life of their own. Anything is possible as soon as the principles of reality don’t apply.

“It’s is a special area that looks rather like a fantasy full of reflections and allusions,” Vizerskaya says of this planet she’s born. “Space where lots of things meant to be felt, not understood, where you return again and again. ”

I want what I see, but I see what doesn’t exist…

This Amazing Modular Cabin Is A Creation Of A 3D Printer By Emerging Objects

Situated in Oakland, this 3D-printed cabin by Emerging Objects breaks fresh ground in sustainable, custom-made dwellings. Founded by Ronald Rael and Virginia San Fratello, the California-based studio, specializing in 3D-printing design and research, brought together a lot of their past material and applications experimentations to explore the possibilities of a weatherproof, free-standing, compact construction.

Using a g-code to control each line of clay as it had been published, the studio created a loopy texture where, on account of the machine’s marginal mistakes and the substance’s behavior, every tile is unique. On the front facade, the planter tiles provide pockets for succulents to grow, forming a living wall of vegetation that combines the cottage within its environment.
That the chroma curl wall, a transparent bio-based plastic coating originated from corn, covers the inside walls. The cladding is embedded with color-changing lights which extend the interior with playful hues of illumination. For the building, emerging objects used only sustainable materials, such as sawdust, chardonnay grape skins, and ceramic, derived either from natural or upcycled sources. The cabin is modular, allowing users to replace components if needed.

A Polish Artist’s Painting of Woman Tattooed With ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ Isn’t What It Seems to Be

What appears to be a picture of a girl showing off her Hieronymus Bosch-inspired tattoo is not a photo in any way. It’s an incredible oil painting by Polish artist Agnieszka Nienartowicz. Graduating two decades back in the Fine Arts Academy of GdaƄsk, she demonstrates astonishing skill in her craft. This particular painting combines the work of Hieronymus Bosch, a forefather of this Northern Renaissance, with tattoo art for a decidedly contemporary feel.

The piece that shares a name with Bosch’s iconic The Garden of Earthly Delights was first conceived of in Nienartowicz’s expressions. Having a deep interest in man’s inner feelings and conflicts, she found that the 15th-century painting as a perfect vehicle to communicate her message. “People are full of contrasts and contradictions, they would like to do good, and instead they do wicked,” the artist shares with My Modern Met. “I was thinking about human nature, about sin and also the will of evil which are inscribed in our being, such as written within us. And I connected it using the Bosch’s triptych, which speaks of human nature. I love this painting; it is so strange, weird and beautiful at the same moment.”

Bosch’s characters, expertly painted oil from the young artist, show the fall of man, contrasting with the delicate beauty of this young woman portrayed. Nienartowicz’s work follows a future trend toward figurative painting in contemporary art. And though treading toward hyperrealism, there’s still a painterly touch clear from the canvas. By combining new and old, she strives to achieve the perfection of the Old Masters, while continuing their adept heritage into the 21st century.

Just what gratification does Nienartowicz derive from blending contemporary and historical elements in her paintings? “I handle each component like any other item, however on the flip side, the historical elements bring a story and an emotional load together. At precisely the same time, by adding them in my paintings, I give them the new context, significance, and a new lifestyle.

The Garden of Earthly Delights by Agnieszka Nienartowicz reveals a young girl adorned with a rear tattoo inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s iconic 15th-century painting.

Frank Thiel Explores Captivating Quinceañera Tradition in Havana

Frank Thiel‘s newest photography show 15 [Quince] was captured within a two-year interval during the fifteen municipalities of Havana.

Around most Latin communities, the Quince tradition instills a Quinceañera’s transition from childhood to adulthood and is considered among life’s most significant occasions. An essential element of this celebration is having professional photos taken of the Quinceañera frequently in fancy dresses and in fantasy settings.

With this undertaking, Thiel recontextualized his youthful subjects; eschewing these hyper-stylised situations in which they’re often depicted. He photographed them within their neighborhoods, in places and configurations atypical to traditional Quinceañera photography. The series reflects Thiel’s extensive research conducted during Cuba over some years.

Thiel and his Cuban group worked closely with the young women and their families to create intricate visual travel through Havana’s urban landscape, giving a romantic depiction of a city that is often idealized and romanticized.
