A Japanese Artist Creates Realistic Looking Fish with Resin and Acrylic Paint

Riusuke Fukahori has always admired the appearance of goldfish, immortalizing realistic depictions of fish in layers of acrylic and resin. Previously Fukahori has focused on paintings of goldfish moving inside of Japanese household items such as bamboo hats, wooden sake cups, and handmade bowls. For his newest Irobukuro show his inspiration has been turned to imitate the vessels and scenery of Mong Kok’s Goldfish Market at Hong Kong, in which rows of colorful fish line stall after stall. For the included functions he molds resin to resemble plastic bags filled with water. Rather than realistically depicting the in-depth scales, eyes, and fins of the fish Fukahori paints abstractly to catch the way the goldfish glide through the water.

These works, together with some of his traditionally painted pieces in memory-laden items are included in his next solo exhibition with Joshua Liner Gallery in New York City, titled Goldfish Blossoms.

Long-Bin Chen Creates Unbelievable Sculptures From Old Books

These sculptures by Long-Bin Chen  look like they’ve been carved from wood or stone. But if you look a little closer, you’ll notice something odd. The sculptures aren’t made from an organic substance in any respect. Instead, they’re carved out of paper from old books and catalogs. Chen’s work discusses waste and recycling. Inanimate objects are carved into sculptures of ethnic icons or swirling towers, providing them a second chance.

Photographer Matthieu Bühler Captures The Streets Of Tokyo At Night

We’re still in our colorful “Blade-Runner-esque” bash here. Let’s investigate the streets of Tokyo, Japan with Matthieu Bühler who’s a graphic designer & photographer. The photo series is entitled: Neon Dreams we take a little glimpse? It is a style of editing that is getting more and more popular with the launch of their Blade Runner 2049.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again. It is not simply because of the latest and greatest in photography equipment, however. Its towns are full of personality that make them different, memorable, and certainly picture-perfect. Tokyo-based graphic designer and photographer Matthieu Bühler shows us how the funds alone makes for a dreamy street photography location in his beautiful set called Neon Dreams.

We instantly think of the hustle and bustle in the city as soon as we hear of the funds. Neon Dreams, however, gives us a more relaxed image of this typically frenetic Tokyo. With the support of the darkened glow of the city neon lights, Matthieu captures glimpses of the city that has no doubt been inspiring photographers, lots of musicians, filmmakers, and other creatives.

Matthieu Bühler is a gifted photographer and graphic designer who lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. Matthieu loves to capture the lights of Tokyo at night illuminating the roads and back alleys of the city. His collection “Neon Dreams” features views of different places away from the famous tourist spots.
