Julien de Casabianca’ New Mural of Melancholic Girl Appeared In Memphi

Artist Julien de Casabianca is well known for wheatpasting themes from famous paintings onto public infrastructure as part of his continuing Outings Project. Last month the French artist was encouraged to present a monumental installation at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Tennessee alongside an exhibition and workshop.

Like his previous murals, the artist desired to give the subject a new home, while also liberating her by the arrangement of the painting‘s frame. In her new position, she gazes out across the city, surveying the scene from the building‘s fire escape. The job is part of Brooks Outside, a recent curatorial program that introduces outdoor installations around the institution.

Huge Murals Of Butterfly Specimen Boxes By Mantra

France-based street artist Mantra has been revealing a series of hyper-realistic street art murals that transform the facades of commercial and residential buildings into colossal butterfly display cases in various countries, like Spain, Austria, France, and Bogota. You have probably seen a number of these because Matra’s murals occasionally get into the listing of the best murals. Anyway, they’re too real and only envision your ideas if you wake up in the morning and look in the window for certain, you will remember Gulliver’s Travels.

Vivid Street Art Portraits Bursting with 3D Flowers

Self-taught artist Sage Barnes, aka Sage, reimagines painted individuals in his continuing series of surreal portraits. Shifting his subjects’ heads with bountiful blossoms and clashing rainbow colors, the men (most of whom are self-portraits) and women confidently balance the burden of those inanimate objects and vibrant clouds.

Sage’s most stunning pieces juxtapose artificial blossoms with painted bodies done in the dripping street art (or graffiti) style. The blooms emerge from chunks of concrete and extend round walls to make a dazzling mixture of texture and color. This variation strikes the conceptual center of Sage’s work. “My main focus is utilizing comparison and representational artwork to directly draw out the feelings and experiences of the audience,” he states on his website. The artist not only accomplishes this but, occasionally, the feelings of both ecstasy and despair in his paintings are palpable.

Sage sells a selection of his works as prints through his online shop.

Banksy’s Latest Tag Appeared on one of the Busiest Streets in Manhattan

Authorities have yet to publish details surrounding Banksy‘s most up-to-date action: a rat, endlessly racing around a wheel (the clock in 14th street and 6th avenue, 101 west 14th street). You will always be a rat <3’ — ‘a short history of time-traveling to infinity #stephenhawking #rip #thanksbanksy’ — ‘it’s about time.’

People around the globe are learning about this new piece by Banksy now; lots of his fans are frustrated that they are not close enough to see him in person. Meanwhile, on 14th street, tens of thousands and tens of thousands will continue conducting their own race now — running to trains, continuously checking their phones for the time, counting the seconds tick down on the crosswalks — completely unaware that Banksy’s latest commentary is running together, moving nowhere, right above their bobbing heads.
