A Greek Artist Drew a Series of Goofy Puns And Their Opposites

Teo Zirinis, AKA handsoffmydinosaur, is a Greek illustrator from Athens, Greece, that creates witty illustrations inspired by food, cartoons, books, and regular life. He says that he always attempts to examine the happy, funny side of things and his cheerful illustrations will undoubtedly brighten your day.

The artist says that he enjoys puns and has made a collection of illustrations including puns and their opposites:

“Puns are just the best. One of my preferred things to do would be to come up with silly word plays that I subsequently bring to life with my examples,” says Teo. “This time I thought it’d be funny to create a set of puns and their opposites!”

OCD Pleasing Images Captured by Maria Svarbova in Soviet Era Swimming Pools

Photographer Maria Svarbova is fascinated with the sterile, geometric aesthetic of old swimming pools, particularly those constructed during the Socialist Era in her native state of Slovakia. Each scene she photos is highly regulated, from the areas of her functions to the vivid colors and striking shadows which compose each shot.

“The characters are mid-movement; however, there isn’t any happy playfulness to these,” states Sarbova’s artist statement concerning the undertaking. “Frozen at the article, the swimmers are as cold and smooth as the tiles of the pool…Regardless of the beautiful setting, the images somehow exude a futuristic feeling also, like they were shot someplace completely submerged.”

This 90-Year-Old Czech Grandma Paints Houses with Flowers Every Year

Remember the little Polish village where each home is covered with painted flowers? Well, one 90-year-old resident of Louka, Czech Republic, is planning to create her hometown just as charming and spends each spring and summertime adorning window and door frames with royal layouts.

Anežka (Agnes) Kašpárková, a former agricultural worker, picked up the hobby from another neighborhood woman who’d been doing the same for years. Using vibrant blue paint along with a small brush, she generates intricate floral designs motivated by traditional Moravian (southern Czech) artwork. Despite attaining both viral and local acclaim, she’s insisted that it is purely for enjoyment.

“I am an artist,” she stated to Czech media. “I just enjoy it, and I want to help.
