An Artist Uses Stitches To Create Embroidery Family Homes

If you have ever picked up an embroidery publication, you understand that we have a ton stitch possibilities. Theresa Lawson of The Monsters Lounge blends woven stitches, French knots, applique, and more to create embroidered houses that people love. From pragmatic to complicated stitches meant to dazzle, they collectively create visually stunning pieces. The likenesses are incredibly tactile, which is by far my favorite section of Theresa’s work. In displaying each one of these different methods, she is showing that hoop art can be sculptural–and in these family homes, it feels most appropriate.

Since her work is so comprehensive, Theresa takes commissions for houses twice a year through her newsletter. She also sells other miscellaneous work via Etsy. And if you are a tenant like me, you are able to follow together with her goggles through Instagram.

This 90-Year-Old Czech Grandma Paints Houses with Flowers Every Year

Remember the little Polish village where each home is covered with painted flowers? Well, one 90-year-old resident of Louka, Czech Republic, is planning to create her hometown just as charming and spends each spring and summertime adorning window and door frames with royal layouts.

Anežka (Agnes) Kašpárková, a former agricultural worker, picked up the hobby from another neighborhood woman who’d been doing the same for years. Using vibrant blue paint along with a small brush, she generates intricate floral designs motivated by traditional Moravian (southern Czech) artwork. Despite attaining both viral and local acclaim, she’s insisted that it is purely for enjoyment.

“I am an artist,” she stated to Czech media. “I just enjoy it, and I want to help.

Age is just a number, particularly when it comes to embracing your imagination. Scroll down to see this artistic grandma in action, and let us know if you wouldn’t mind her using your house as a canvas.
