These Optical Illusion Rugs Make It Look Like You’re Might Fall Into A Giant Hole

Watch out–if you are not careful, you might drop through this giant hole in the ground! Well, not very, however, the optical illusion rugs of designer Scott Jarvie will force you to think so. Calling the project Void Rug, the unique decoration is relatively simple in design–comprising just two colors–yet quite visually powerful. They are persuasive enough to make you think there’s a deep crater in the middle of your home.

Both floor coverings are best appreciated when you’ve got some distance from these; it makes the sliver of grey look like it’s really the border of a deep black hole. If you are standing on top of the carpet, it loses the fantastical effect. However, the abstract shapes still add some visual excitement to your area.

The modern rugs come in two sizes– there is around version that is designed for large spaces as well as a long rectangle that’s designated as a runner for tight areas like hallways.

Scott Jarvie has designed optical illusion rugs that, from the perfect angle, look like a giant crater has opened up in your property.

Abstract Aerial Art: These Two Brothers Capture a New View of the World

Wolverhampton born brothers photographers, Mike and JP Andrews, aka Abstract Aerial Art newly started this airy series of photographs after traveling around the globe.

What began as a short escape from the 9-5 rat race, and also a whole lot of wanderlust burning through their veins, the Andrews brothers began their experience by traveling around the globe to Australia to envision the scenery they encountered, and document all of it onto a blog. It wasn’t until the pair started their journeys across the huge state that matters changed forever.

A month into their trip, and after many delays including drone flying limitations, getting stuck in the mud 100 miles away from culture, locating themselves chasing storms and surrounded by wildfire, the set had an opportunity to settle back and look at the images they had been catching across the way. It wasn’t the normal landscape pictures which were holding their focus, but, in actuality, it was the images that they had been taking directly above the arenas that stood outside. It was at this point that ‘Abstract Aerial Art’ was born.

Mike Andrews, one half of Abstract Aerial Art, stated: “Arriving in Sydney and locating ourselves a pre-owned automobile, we set off to the outback with no survival skills in any respect, to film and photograph remote Australia. The experiences we went on were unbelievable, and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

“But not long into our trip, we came to realise that we had a huge variety of extremely rare images which we had no idea what to do with, yet wanted to share with the world — when you look at scenery in a generic landscape format, whilst still unbelievable, it’s what everyone is used to seeing. After we realized how odd things seem directly from above, we knew we’d stumbled upon something unique. The images we recorded are magical, and the world deserves to see them.”

Transferring the circumference of the earth after which three quarters of the way back again surely is not the same way that many Brits start looking for a new task, but Abstract Aerial Art has travelled the equivalent of driving from London to Sydney, and back again, double, and also have an armoury of tales to whet the appetite of even the most sophisticated traveller.

Looking at their photography is similar to looking at a sci-fi book full of artist’s impressions of planets far from Earth. Landscapes become abstract bursts of color and stripes, and tropical seascapes echo the beauty of green agate pieces. The most interesting thing about Abstract Aerial Art’s pictures is that, other than slight color and contrast improvements, none of their pieces are manipulated in any other manner.

Aston Martin Presents Supercar ‘Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake 2018’

Aston Martin first debuted the ‘vanquish Zagato Volante,’ followed by confirmation that the ‘vanquish Zagato speedster’ is entering production, and now the British-automaker shows its spectacular ‘vanquish Zagato shooting brake.’ The cars are the latest in a collaboration between the two firms that started back in 1960 using the ‘DB4 GT’ Zagato.

The Aston Martin Vanquish-based Zagato set — such as the two-seat shooting brake — features a 5.9-litre V12 engine with 592 bhp, combined with a ‘Touchtronic III’ automatic gearbox and rear-wheel-drive. There are also revised spring rates, retuned dampers, thicker anti-roll pubs and revised hydraulic steering. For the shooting brake, it comes with a powered boot which opens up to reveal a well-finished cabin area typical of the British-automaker. Aston has yet to reveal images of the shooting brakes inside, although if you inspect the images under closely enough, you may just get a better idea.

Al Dente: Pasta-Inspired Silver Jewelry That Helps Feed the Hungry

Do you remember those kindergarten classes spent making masterpieces from pasta and glue? Pasta art only got far more complex thanks to Delicacies Jewelry, who recently released a lineup of pasta-inspired sterling silver bracelets. The group, entitled Al Dente–which is the Italian term for perfectly-cooked pasta that’s firm to the bite–was created in collaboration with Barilla. Each piece is dependent on your favorite pasta shapes, from a bowtie-shaped farfalle to the corkscrew-like Rotini.

Every purchase provides 20 foods to help feed the hungry.

When describing their theme, the newest goes deep into a passionate pasta-mythos that even borders on the religious. The Rotini necklace is said to promote “passion, joy, and renewal” while the Penne Rigate piece encourages “passion, attention, and creativity.” Together, the pasta pendants are “a reminder of what it means to be human.” Delicacies go on to describe how “Pasta is a cross-cultural phenomenon; meals of communal, familial suppers and silent comfort evenings. Wear it to recall ages past, and to draw on that background when you are feeling that the world coming unraveled.”

Head over to the Delicacies antique site where you can also have a quiz to discover your “soul ingredient.”
