Casa Mila

Casa Mila, also known as La Pedra, loosely translates to the stone quarry. This name is the perfect description of the architectural marvel because it actually looks like an open quarry. The flamboyant building was built from 1906-1912 and it looks more of a sculpture than a building. This is a must-see for anyone that is fascinated by ancient architectural designs.

Mont Juic

Mont Juic literally means “the mountain of jews.” This hilltop neighborhood was built on an ancient Jewish cemetery and that explains why it is called so. Mont Juic’s most notable building is a fortress that starts at the summit of the hillside and then stretches down to the sea. This place has lots of scenic views but it is also loved for its amusement parks and museums. Exploring Stunning Beauty of Sweden from Above with Viggo Lundberg

Viggo resides in Stockholm and works full time as a firefighter. But also finds the time to take some awe-inspiring photos of the magnificent Swedish landscapes.

Viggo shares “I love being in the forests and the great outdoors. Several of my photos are taken more or less outside of the door, either at southern Stockholm or around Kinnekulle where I grew up. The very best thing about Sweden is that it is never quite a way to nature and that there’s still a great deal of untouched wilderness. I have always enjoyed camping outdoors and looking for adventures, and nothing beats cooking over a campfire.”

Sweden has a rich record of fairy tales which are put in and constructed on the beautiful natural surroundings. Viggo grew up and has been inspired by the fairytale worlds of Astrid Lindgren, Jenny Nyström and Elsa Beskow – incorporating a sense of mystery and magic to a character.

“When I was younger, I often went around with a camera, but I sort of lost the habit as I grew up. But when I became a father three decades back, the camera came back once I wanted to catch the critical moments as my daughter grows up. So that my camera travels with me places again! ”

Meticulously Shaped Animal Portraits by Tiffany Miller Russell

Colorado-based wildlife artist and natural history illustrator Tiffany Miller Russell uses carefully molded paper to express the special characteristics of her animal. To begin the sculptural works, the artist creates the first drawing. She then cuts and forms found paper by hand to build a three-dimensional pixel beneath the original illustration.

“I delight in the unique and unusual,” she shares Colossal,” and my goal when creating is to speak with my viewer that excitement. I hope to pass with a small amount of miracle for the world around us.”

Along with producing paper sculptures for the past fifteen years, The artist has also volunteered in a zoology prep lab and paleontology laboratory to further her knowledge and personal enthusiasm for evolutionary history. They have personalities and go about the world in their own ways that matter.

An Indonesian Artist Reimagines Cats As Superheroes

To all the geeky cat-lovers out there — we bring the purrfect art you will not be able to resist. A talented Indonesian illustrator and concept artist Fajareka Setiawan is producing fun mashups of cute kittens and Marvel and DC characters we didn’t know we needed in our lives.

In his private’Catvengers’ series, Fajareka transforms kittens into our favorite superheroes (or the other way around) with amazing precision, and it is not only about the thorough costume. If you look carefully, you will recognize the personality traits in each illustration. From Catpool to AquaCat, these would be the ferocious superheroes we’d genuinely like to see a big display.
